So, our building of the week is, Infinity Tower, Dubai. Designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merril, Infinity Tower skyscraper is a 307 meter, 76 storey twisting tower of steel and glass, blending effortlessly into the skyline. Imagine a tower that will stand the test of time and shall become a testament of engineering and great architecture, because you can bet that this building will.
I'm not trying to make this article sound like a sales pitch, but I really do think it a great design. The project was first envisaged to be completed in 2008, however due to a wall collapse and the consequent flooding of the site it has finally managed to be completed in late 2012. The tower will house hundreds of residential apartments as well as conference rooms, tennis courts, pools, a state of the art gymnasium, a nursery and a spa. Everything a discerning individual with too much money would need, except a cinema, I don't know what they were playing at!
