I’ve used Matt for many projects and have always had an A+ experience! From a new build vacation home in WV to an office expansion/renovation to a complete gut job/renovation/expansion of a Chevy Chase Village home, he never disappoints! Matt and his team did the design and plans for our addition last year. We were very happy with their work and service. Matt personally served as a go-between between us and our builder to make sure that we were asking the right questions, that the project was going to plan, and that the builder didn’t miss any detail. Matt also helped get the permits in with the Arlington County permit office, which was welcomed assistance. Overall we would recommend McD Studio to anyone looking for architectural help!
Amazing customer service and attention to detail. Extremely responsive and customer-focused. Currently working with them on a custom home remodel and am incredibly impressed. They have been responsive, attentive to detail and have helped us through a challenging process with insurance.
Their pricing structure has been fair, transparent and reasonable given the incredible work they do. They came in well below alternative bids and helped us discover a design / build firm that was trying to undercut us and ultimately helped is save $3,000 and get a higher quality product (LVT vs engineered wood) I highly recommend them for all types of renovations!

We were interested in a modern design with lots of high-performance details; Matt not only delivered, but really exceeded our expectations. Designs came out beautifully, they coordinated with engineering firms (and recommended cost-effective engineering options) to create complete plans, and even suggested builders we could partner with. We also really appreciated familiarity with different techniques and materials, and great flexibility in giving multiple options for the same results.
Communication was great, we were on a tight timeline and everyone was flexible with us. We got 3D plans we could engage with to help visualize the space, along with everything needed for permitting and building, and great advice on details and conventions we wouldn’t otherwise have thought of.
Highly recommended!!!
